Some places you simply can’t photograph from the ground.
A waterfront listing that only makes sense once you see the moorage, the beach, and the mountains behind it. A construction site where the real story is progress you can measure week over week. A stretch of habitat a research team needs documented without setting foot in it.
That’s the work we love. Hoke Designs has been photographing Juneau and Southeast Alaska since 2007, and our drone team puts that same eye — and more than a decade of local flying experience — a few hundred feet up. We handle the airspace authorizations, watch the weather windows, fly the mission, and deliver polished, ready-to-use results: stills, cinematic video, or survey-grade data.
One local team. Licensed, insured, and genuinely excited about every flight.
What we deliver

Aerial Photography
Shots that sell the view.
Crisp stills, twilight exposures, HDR, and panoramas — composed by photographers, not just pilots.

Aerial Video & Cinematography
Your story, in motion.
Cinematic property tours, FPV fly-throughs, promo films, and event coverage, edited and color-graded in-house.

Mapping & Survey Data
Pictures you can measure.
Orthomosaics, progress documentation, and site data your project team can actually work with.
Who we fly for
Why Hoke Designs
FAA Part 107 certified & insured
Every flight, every time.
Juneau airspace natives
Class D and E authorizations are routine for us, not a research project.
Photographers first
We compose, light, and grade like the studio we are.
All of Southeast Alaska
Juneau home base; Sitka to Skagway and everywhere between. Further afield when the project calls for it.
Straight answers
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
We watch the windows and reschedule free — you never pay for a scrub.
How fast do I get my photos or video?
Stills: typically 48 hours. Edited video: usually 1–2 weeks depending on scope. Rush available.
Can you fly near the airport or downtown?
Usually yes — Juneau’s controlled airspace requires authorization, and we handle it routinely.
Who owns the images?
You get broad, plain-English usage rights for the purpose you hired us for; we retain copyright and portfolio use. Re-licensing for new uses is quick and fair.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — FAA Part 107 and insured on every flight. Certificates on request.
Do you fly in winter?
All year. Some of our favorite shots are the low-light and snow-line months.
