The story
The brief
Juneau District Heating proposes to heat downtown buildings with energy drawn from the channel. The site had to make an unfamiliar idea clear: how the system works, what it costs, what it means for a building owner. We paired our night photography of downtown with an illustrated explainer and a resource library.
What we did
A Juneau company developing a seawater heat-pump district heating system for downtown.
