What we built
6 pieces, one site
Custom design & build
Designed around the client's content and customers rather than a template, and built on WordPress so their own staff can edit every page.
Online store
Products, cart and checkout on WooCommerce, with payments settled straight to the client — no marketplace in the middle.
Learning center
Courses and lessons people take at their own pace, with progress tracked per person.
Online donations
One-time and recurring gifts with receipts sent automatically, and a donor list the office can actually use.
Events calendar
A calendar the client updates themselves; upcoming events surface on the home page automatically.
Smart forms
Contact, request and application forms that route to the right inbox, keep a copy in the site and stop spam before it lands.
The story
The brief
Sealaska Heritage Institute perpetuates and enhances Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian cultures. We built and host the main site and a family of subsites around it: the store, the online learning platform, Celebration, the archive guides, class registration and visitor information. Each has its own job; all share one identity and one login.
What we did
A regional Native nonprofit founded in 1980, based at the Walter Soboleff Building in downtown Juneau.
What changed
The main site and several subsites have since moved; this entry needs a review before it goes live.
